I am curious how different the landing process is for everyone.
I'm particularly interested in people who flew in, to land from the US.

All experiences are welcome and appreciated though. I feel this thread could ease people like me who like knowing exactly what to expect before hand.

Thanks everyone!

Less than 10 minutes, only two questions. Who sponsored you, and what will be your address (confirming it is or is not what they have already)? (That's flying into Toronto.)

They double-checked a lot of things on the form like our names and addresses, whether there was additional family, added our phone number. Then they told us to do an sit down and figured out the procedure. At one point, there were actually four officers discussing how to do it around the computer monitor and one of them was flipping through a procedure book. It took them about 20 minutes to figure out they right way to do it, and then they stamped the paper, stapled it into the passport and called us back. Lastly, they gave my partner a "Welcome to Canada" book after asking if he preferred it in French or English (we live in Quebec).

So none of the officers were sure how the landing procedure goes?! Oh boy... lol

I will be landing in Quebec as well!

Curious... I was glancing at your timeline. Is there a reason yours took over a year? I really hope I don't have to wait a year to get PR...

truesmile how much did you wait in queue at the immigration office at Pearson airport?
why i'm asking is 'cause my final destination is MTL, QC, but via Toronto, so i'll do my landing there. my connection would be in 4h and 30 mins, do you think it's enough to be done with the landing procedure before catching the connection?

can anyone else share their landing experiences at Toronto airport?

Well, there were two of them looking at it, then a third one, then a fourth one from a nearby workstation said, loudly enough that I heard it from across the room, "Trust me. I've been doing them all day."

When we went to get the SIN, the receptionist wasn't sure that the landing was valid, since the passport was stamped, but they didn't sign anything or write anything below the stamp, but the woman who issued the SIN had no doubts.
