does dependent child (aged 6) needs separate study permit if I am applying for whole family together?
Need some context. How. Is mother eligible for an open work permit? Is her spouse in Canada as a worker/student? If spouse is a student when do studies finish? If on PGWP, is spouse working? If spouse is not a student or worker, she is not eligible. She is not allowed to work if minor children or post secondary children are studying in Canada. Please help with your update, is it possible for kids study application to be approved and mothers open work not? When she is the one to take them, plus what can I do now?
So the mother’s spouse is in Canada on a work permit or study permit? If so, where did she apply from? There are different processing times for different permits.Yes mother is eligible spouse is in Canada kids are minor, application was surmitted same time together, kids Decision made, mother awaiting over 3months, emails showed still app still in process, I wonder how long ?
Spouse is on a study permit, applied from united kingdom, last mail showed eligibility checked, criminality checked, security check in process dont understand why that is and how long it's takingSo the mother’s spouse is in Canada on a work permit or study permit? Processing for a work permit is 43 weeks so you have some time to wait. Study permits have different processing times.Spouse is on a study permit, applied from united kingdom, last mail showed eligibility checked, criminality checked, security check in process dont understand why that is and how long it's taking

IRCC hasn’t clarified what happens for study permits for children of international students especially after January 22. If spouses are no longer allowed it would make sense that children are no longer allowed since spouse can work and also can share a bed so no extra stress on the housing market while children need access to a lot more services like education, healthcare, childcare, etc. unless I missed the announcement it is unclear whether children of international students can join their parents in Canada during their studies
All you can do is wait as processing times are longer for a work permit. Check processing times every couple of weeks. Once over processing time then raise a webform. In this case kids have been issued study permit already just one spouse hasn't been issued open work permit
Posted processing times are just averages. No point in contacting IRCC unless it is many months longer than posted time since all you be told is to be patient. All you can do is wait as processing times are longer for a work permit.
