Hi everyone,

Hope all are doing good. I live in Canada and want to apply for a visit visa for my mum. My brother is also applying for student visa. My question is: is there a chance to get rejected for either of the visa as there will be no one back home if they both apply?

Any expert's suggestions/comments are appreciated.

Thank you!

Maybe someone who knows will reply, but I think you might have more luck if you post this in the other forum, since this is not really related to family sponsorship. :)

No, that will not be taken into consideration when it is being processed.

Thank you so much for replying! You meant to say they will not consider these things that there will not be anyone back home and not think that my mom won't return once she gets her tourist visa and comes to Canada etc etc?

First question, are you PR or Canadian?

I am a PR in Canada.
If not taking COVID and border restrictions supervisa for parents should be easy. student visa requires more work - financial support, english test, acceptance letter

Do you think it's better to apply for a super visa than a normal tourist visa? I'm okay if it takes a bit longer to process because of COVID and all these. Thank you again for replying.

If your Mother gets a TRV she can't come to Canada to live, she can come to visit for a max of 6 months at a time. If IRCC thinks she will come to Cda and not leave then they will not grant the tourist visa. If that is your intention you should go the super visa route.

Thanks. Yeah, my mum will not stay here for longer. She will come and go, something like that, so that she can be with us too. My concern is if IRCC thinks that there's no one back home and they might not grant the visa. Do you think it's a valid concern?

As I said I don't see a problem with that.
