Apologies if this has been discussed before but has anyone heard about the impact that the strike is having on processing?
I saw an alert on the CEC processing times page

I assume that our CEC application counts as a visa application, so in that case... yes:

"Anyone applying for a visa should anticipate delays and submit their application as far in advance as possible."

it also says"Posted processing times for both temporary and permanent resident visa applications do not take into account work stoppages."

so i guess we are fine

LOL, not really. What that means is the posted processing time is with no work stoppage. With a work stoppage, those processing times will no longer be valid and will be longer.

That's how my luck runs ::) All I'm waiting for is for them to put my passports and COPR back in the post and send them back to me. Watch, they'll get almost to mine, then go on strike, delaying things even further, and scuttling my plans for the summer. I work on both sides of the border, and cannot do part of my job because they have my passport. :(

DFAIT is a separate department from CIC. Each of them operates under a different minister. Still, visa applications typically involve both departments, particularly the ones done outside Canada which depend on embassies/consulates.

CEC processing in Canada should be mostly unaffected unless CIC needs information from a local embassy (such as background) in which case delays can be expected.

Will this impact the BOWP applications processing ? I know all paper applications go to CPC Vegreville, I submitted online and not sure which office is responsible. As of now looks like only Officers in Ottawa walked out. Any idea folks?
