Hi everyone,

I'm in a though situation currently where:
  1. I'm employed in Canada on a Young Professional Visa (i.e., tied to my current employer);
  2. I want to switch employers and have a job offer elsewhere (very unhappy where I'm currently at, but that's not a valid reason..);
  3. I'll hopefully receive eCOPR soon (awaiting Portal 2 email from Montreal VO office since March 22nd).
I don't want to sign the new Job offer without being 100% sure that my eCOPR will be received before the job's start date.

I wonder if I'd be able, if eCOPR does not come in on time, to apply for a bridging work permit, with the reason of "leaving my current job" which nullifies my Young Professional Visa, and then start a new job under implied status while the bridging work permit is pending, untill I receive eCOPR?

Any advice is hugely appreciated. Thanks.

Did you claim points for having a job offer?

You would not be able to start the new job on implied status. You would need to wait for the BOWP to actually be approved.
