Hello, I've applied for a study permit in october and I got my passport request and my passport arrived at the VAC today. but the application profile/status still says open. SHould I be worried?

I don't think so, they wouldn't request the passport for a refusal.

They take about 24 Hours to update the status of the application on online server, don't worry. Your passport will be stamped with visa. Good Luck!
