Hello Friends,

Good Morning.

I had applied for the PR for my son (3 years old; under the family sponsorship category), who is currently living with me in canada on the visitor visa. The initial application was processed in mississauga office and sent to CPP-O office for further processing. It has been 4 months since the file was transferred to the CPP-Ottawa office by the mississauga office. So, i didn't hear anything from the Ottawa office for the last 4 months, except for the AOR that i received from the MISSISSAUGA office after 30 days of my application.

when i emailed the CPP-Ottawa office to check on the status of my son's application, the below is the response that i got from them. what does that mean ? Is it that, the application is in the final stage or what is it ? please advise. how much more time approximately is expected before i hear from the CPP-O office ?

"The file is currently in queue to be reviewed by an officer."

bye, Geo

Note - my initial application was sent to mississauga office in the mid of may 2013.

Based on our experience this means that the file is in queue to be reviewed, i.e. it has been received by the visa office, but no significant work has commenced on it as of yet.

Just FYI, current "inland" processing timeline is 19 months, 11 months for Stage 1 and 8 months for Stage 2. So you may not hear anything more until April of 2014.
