Spouse visa processing time 1 year during COVID 19

I will soon get my post graduate work permit. I want to get married and get my wife here soon. I heard some spousal applications are taking upto 1 year to process. Is it true?!

That is for sponsorship for PR. Typically around 6 months since I assume you are from India. SOWP isn’t guaranteed. We have seen people get denied if they apply right after an arranged marriage and spouses haven’t spent much time together in person. You should certainly try but people assume it is guaranteed.

Applications from India are seriously backlogged would search the WP sections for others in the same position for current time frames because posted ones are much shorter than what people are encountering.
