Spouse sponsorship from India

I wanted to sponsor my wife from India. I checked the processing time is 2 months + 16 months=18 months. My question is when my spouse can come to Canada after 18 months (complete process) or is there way my spouse can come early.

You can apply for visitor visa. Some time they may not approve this?

The approval is often much faster than 18 months - that is the average to finish 80% of the applications. If your application is complete, has lots of evidence your relationship is genuine, and there are no complicating issues, then it could be done before a year.
She can also apply for a TRV, though they are very difficult to get. She has to prove ties to India that show she will not overstay her visit to Canada.

You can apply for visitor visa for your wife thro VFS India.

There is no special category for spousal visitor visa. She has to apply for the same visitor visa anyone else would. To be approved, she has to show ties to India so that the visa officer will believe she will leave Canada before the visa expires. With a spouse in Canada, this can be difficult to do, but some people have received them even though they have applied for PR.

If she has a job, she can get a letter from her employer proving she has a job and giving her a few weeks off. Other ties are things like a mortgage or lease or home ownership, money in the bank, investments, children left behind, family ties, etc. A return ticket with a specific date is a good idea as well.
