Hello,
I am a PR holder here in SK and I would like to sponsor my parents and bring them over here. Anybody aware of any methods to do so? Also heard about getting them inside Canada on a Supervisa and then applying for PR from within Canada? How would that process work?

Any help, in any direction is much appreciated.

Yes, you can sponsor your parents but maximum number of applications has been reached for 2014. Be prepared to submit your 2015 application within the first 3 weeks of January. How long have you been here? You will need 3 years of Canadian income for the years 2011, 2012, and 2013 at a minimum threshold to support your 2015 application. You certainly may get your parents here on a super-visa sooner either before or while your sponsorship application is in the queue. The two streams are exclusive of each other.

I have been a PR for a year only now but I do have Canadian income for the past 3 years. Whether it meets the minimum required threshold, I don't think I would in all of the 3 years.

If they come here on a supervisa, can I apply for them after that?

You can use your Canadian income even if you weren't a PR then, BUT it MUST meet the parent's LICO amount based on your family size. You must show 3 continuous years meeting that LICO amount, before you can apply for parents sponsorship. i.e. assuming you can meet the LICO amounts in 2014, 2015 and 2016... you could then sponsor them in January 2018.

You can bring parent's here on supervisa, and if you qualify to sponsor them for PR you can certainly also do that while they're here. Based on current program, you can basically only sponsor them during the first couple weeks in January of each year. The PR application doesn't give them any status in Canada, the supervisa (or regular TRV) would do that.

Keep in mind with supervisa it's mandatory they have travel medical insurance coverage for at least a full year, so make sure to research that cost.

Thanks Rob_TO! Question about supervisa: how long do they get a supervisa for which allows them to stay in Canada? Now, lets say after the 1st time they get the visa, can I renew it again? And lets say the 2nd time I go to renew it, their health condition has deteriorated since the first time, how does that work?

Read here on supervisa details: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/supervisa.asp
It allows for a continuous stay of up to 2 years before needing renewal. I assume at each renewal, a new insurance is required. So if their health deteriorated, insurance cost would just be that much higher.

For some a regular multi-entry visa may be better, since there are no insurance requirements.
