I don't see anywhere that people from SA is complaining. Why don't we start discussing our issues here.
I would like to know if there's anyone out there also waiting to hear from the Canandian embassy. We submitted our entry in 2007 and are still waiting.

I also would like to know if any one can tell me how to go about opening an international account for a bank in Canada, that we can start transfering money to and also start a credit reference. :

My local bank said the only way i can have proof of funds is via travelers cheques and that i am not allowed to have any debt when leaving SA. :-\

maybe things are going well that is why people are not complaining I one of those people who chooses to read and observe but I'm September 2009 applicant waiting for medical request any day soon. 8)

Why? When you submitted the application in 2007, you knew the processing time was 27-62 months.

Mak387, I take it that you applied under the new procedure. I wish you all the best. Have you ever been to Canada, and where in Canada would you like to reside?

PMM, I know what the waiting period is. i was just wondering if there could have been a lucky one in SA that might have been one of the 24 mths processing. I'm sure you would understand the frustration feeling when you want something so badly, especially if all your family are already in Canada. It's been almost 3 yrs since my mom saw my children, so please understand.

Hi Annel,
We applied initially in Oct 2005 and are still waiting for the outcome of that application. So, we decided to re-apply in March 2010 under the new system without withdrawing the first application and thankfully, we received our first AOR from CIC from Nova scotia today. So if you qualify. I think it might be a good idea to re-apply, cos with the old applications, Pretoria is currently reviewing applications submitted in Feb 2005, based on the info on their website

Congratulations! Hope yours come through quickly It's a slep waiting so long, your whole life is basically being put on hold. Our qualifications do not fall under the new rules so we will be rejected, will just have to sit and wait, i geuss another 1-2 years won't harm, as we are waiting since 2003.
