Hi, I wanted to know if there are any restrictions on sources of income for a closed work permit holder. If i am on a closed work permit it means i can only work for the employer tied to my work permit which is fine, this may also mean that i can only have income from that employer. My question is - i took an apartment on rent which allows me to sub lease the parking space (this was agreed with the landlord). If i let out the parking space it will generate some amount of income from that rent (even though minimal). Would this in anyway conflict with my closed work permit or does the closed work permit prohibit this? It would be good to be well informed before i make a decision.

Your case is similar to a temporary foreign worker buying an apartment and renting it. This is permitted (with some rules), in a small scale like your parking lease, you should not have any issue provided you report this income appropriately (put some money on the side to pay for taxes in march/april).
