I have a question. I live in Canada and my wife is from Bangladesh.

On April 4th I received 2 emails.

The first one said:

You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent
Residence for your relative(s) has been forwarded to a visa office abroad for further processing.
Should you need to submit additional information or make any further enquiries regarding the
Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s), you may contact the visa office by e-mail,
fax, or in writing as follows:
CPC Ottawa

Ottawa ON
K1A 1L1, Canada
E-mail: OttPilot-immigration @ cic.gc.ca
Fax number: (613) 946-6059
This visa office was selected based on your relative's home address and the requirements of the
Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.[/left][/pre]

The 2nd one said:

E-mail: https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/cicemail/intro-eng.aspx?mission=singapore
Fax number: (65) 6854-5874

So they were exactly the same on page 1 and page 2 of the 2 page document but one said to contact Singapore and the other said to contact Ottawa. Is this normal? The call center said that the visa process starts in Ottawa and then gets sent to Singapore (in my wires case). Can others on this forum confirm this was their experience? I realize it can also depend on where they live, where they are applying from etc. Any help is greatly appreciated.

My wife (from Indonesia) only got 1 email from Singapore (and this was back in April 2013), stating to contact Singapore.

Odd that your wife got those 2 emails. Perhaps the first one was a mistake. Considering your wife is from Bangladesh, somehow I'm more inclined to believe that the Singapore office is the one you guys should be dealing with...

Hi guys,

Just a thought: if the SVO returned a passport via registered mail, do you think internally they'd have a tracking number (provided by the Singapore Post) for the package then? In other words, in the unlikely event that something unexpected happened to the package during transit, would the SVO be able to trace its whereabouts?

Unfortunately no, registered mail in Singapore does not provide a tracking number unless it is Speedpost.

Alonekitchner, if the processing office is SVO, then you should contact SVO instead. I am assuming that Ottawa was the office that analysed and first recieved your application then determined that your spouse is eligible to sponsor you before transferring your file to SVO. Hence you should be contacting SVO instead should you need to as your file would be with them.

Polash, why don't you tell us in particular which part or which line of the GCMS notes you don't understand? That way it would be easier for us to help you instead.

Hi kaisin82,
My passport arrived in Singapore on March 26th (by FedEx), and my status is still in process. I just stopped visiting this forum for a while since it's quite frustrating ;)

I also sent mine by fedex on the 13 th it feels like they give priority to people who send it through a vfs centre which is completely unfair because Thailand doesn't have one.

Thailand does have VFS:

But like the one in Indonesia, they don't handle PR matters... =(

Haha yes I know they have one but it's actually not fully functional I went there when they were just opened in January they hardly do anything except student visas

But on a good note I checked fedex and my husbands passport was picked up today they said it should get here by Friday or if we are lucky and Bangkok is quick we will get it tomorrow!!!
