how do you get know who picked up or assinged to ?

Visa officers are referred to by a number letter code on your file. If you order GMCS notes, it will be on page 2. If you send things in by courier you can see who signed for it but I doubt any of those signatures are from your or anyone's really, visa officer. Once you know the code for your officer, you can ask on the forum if anyone has or has had the same and you can see what their experience has been like and get more of an idea of what to expect in terms of your timeline.

So do we wait for about 6 weeks after Singapore received the applicant's passport then? In other words, if there's still no news 6 weeks after they got the passport, we should contact the MP to find out what happened?

i.e: my wife's passport arrived at Singapore CHC on 12 March. 6 weeks after that is 23 April, and if she still hasn't got it back by then, I should then contact my MP?

Yes. I would. You can also contact your IOM or agency that your passport is being sent to and ask them how long the waits are between sending and receiving that they are typically seeing at this time. You can call those people anytime.

What's "IOM"? And what "agency" are you referring to? Something like VFS may be?

My wife personally sent the stuff directly via DHL to the Canadian High Commission in Singapore (One George Street). I don't think they've got a phone number we can call?

No you cannot call them directly (Singapore office) only your MP's office can when there's a problem or something unusual. Did your wife send a return DHL envelope? IOM is the international organisation for migration and depending on the country it's an office like this or whatever office you were told you can send and receive your passport through regardless of whether or not you used a courier you can call them to ask current return time averages for your passport. Yours hasn't been long so I would wait a week or so. I know it's so hard when you've been waiting so long and it feels so close. I can only say that when it's done it's such a happy day you forget all the pain. I still can't get over the joy and disbelief of finally having my husband with me after all the waiting. Yes the last bit was the worst. So anxious to have it just be done!! You're almost there.

there are still many 2011 and 2012 applicants that are still waiting?

I applied under provincial nominee program
My status has been the same since Nov 2011 and it's only 28months later(2 weeks ago), that i receive "In Process" and Medical request


but hopefully yours will be faster than mine.....

I really hope so that they will process it quickly.. Getting old of waiting..

VAC whatever. Whatever place on your ppr you were told you can send and receive your passport from regardless of how you actually did it

We have been processing for 1 month 2 days. Your right about feeling anxious though, it's so close (I hope).

What is the next step I should be prepping for? Return of proofs and re med? My wife's medical was done in July 2013 I believe originally?

I would like to hear from someone in the same situation or who has gone through this part recently! Thanks as always for welcoming replies!

*Gulp*. She did include a return envelope, but not a DHL envelope.....it was a regular, brown, A4 envelope, and not prepaid (well, the PPR letter only requests for a return envelope; it didn't mention that it has to be prepaid).

She also indicated (on Appendix A) that she'd like the passport to be returned via registered mail.

Did she do the right thing? The envelope didn't have to be prepaid, did it?

She did the right thing... if you are not requesting it be couriered back you just send a self-addressed envelope and they will pay the postage for registered mail to return it

The next step would be an email or letter from SVO requesting PP... since your medicals are still good for 4 months your wife shouldn't need a new medical

We went in process Nov 4th and received the email regarding passport submission on Jan 27th

Nothing was returned to us as they didn't have any original documents

They will send it to your VAC or IOM securely.. There will be a pick up fee. No panic.

Well so far according to the list most people get it back in a month or month +. After all they did mention to give it a minimum of 30 days. Can understand the anxiety...it only been a week for me... the end is near though, good things are worth the wait.
