MANILIMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca - this is the email I use..

From coc..I waited almost 6 months before I received ppr submitted my passport the next day..Then 5 days after my CIC changed to DM..Then after 2 days got my passport back :)
Thank you so much for the information Lala. I hope mine won't take another 6months, otherwise, mine would already be a year's waiting time. :( hopefully not the case. But all in God's will. :(

Hello Jupiter.

I am still in Vietnam with my wife. However, we have booked our one-way tickets and will land in Edmonton on December 26. Hopefully, our customs experience will be as uneventful as ImABule.

Thank you!

My wife and I flew to Canada together and when we got to Pearson after following the long queue to customs, I went through the Canadian line and my wife proceeded to the "all other passports" line. When my wife reached the counter they wrote a bunch of stuff on her declaration card that neither of us understood. The officer asked my wife a few questions like what food items she had as we packed a whole lot of Indonesian instant coffee and tea so she declared she had food items on her card. She then put a squiggly line through the visa in my wife's passport and stamped the entry stamp with date on a separate page. As she came through the customs area past the desks on the left where another officer asks to see your declaration card there is a separate room for immigration. My wife and I went in there and as there was no line we were immediately called to a counter. There the officer took my wife's passport and COPR and asked a couple questions like how long we have been married, whether I was over in Indonesia with my wife, and the address of my wife's final destination. It was very easy going and then officer asked if she had ever been convicted of a crime or it she had any undeclared dependants and circled no on the COPR where it asks that. Then my wife signed the COPR and she stamped the date my wife became a PR and folder and stapled one copy into her passport and that was it!

Our visa was only valid until February because of our medical exam expiring then. They just told my wife she has to live in Canada 2 out of every rolling 5 year period to keep her status and explained time out of Canada with me counts towards the requirement. Also it's not really an interview just a couple casual questions.

Medical expiring in less than 2 months. Still waiting this is getting depressing. Don't understand why they are purposely making us wait.

They approved someone that had no wedding in 2 months from when they received the application in Singapore. So that leads me to believe they can render decision made quickly. Seen others with interviews and getting approved faster than my wife's application.

Yes not good to compare with others as each application is different. Can't wait to receive my GCMS notes next week see if there is any further progress from 'Bona Fide' relationship. Spent majority of last 3 years in Vietnam not working is taking a mental toll on me. Part of me wants this application approved after my wife gives birth in April and part of me wants it approved now just to ease the burden of perpetual waiting.

We all just got to stay strong as we all are waiting for this painful process to end. Congratulations to everyone that have had their applications approved and being re-united with your spouse in Canada truely inspires me endure this long journey.
