Hi seniors

I appreciate your advices:

I am landing in December 2015, the question is should I file taxes for 2015?
2-my income in 2015 was really low, is that a plus point to be eligible for some financial aids or any kinda aids for the next year?

I am not any kind of expert on this but have been trying to figure out how to deal with taxes once I move to Canada from the US.

Since you are establishing your tax residence in 2015 in Canada I think you are responsible for filing. Even if you do not have any taxes to pay, the tax people always seem to be happier having filed. I think any of the benefits you may get are prorated time wise for your tax time in Canada so there would not be much there.

Dave we're in the same boat. I am relocating from the US to Canada, I think I will swicth to paying Canadian taxes ONLY after I land in Jan 2016, I still do want to maintain a US address for 12 months
