Hoping someone in Canada can help me with this, as I've tried looking on various websites and can't find the definitive information and have done a search of the forums and although that people have done this, I'm just really not sure of the specifics.

I received my PPR from London but are now in Canada. From what I've read its no problem to send your passport over to London to get my visa into it and then they can send it back to me in Canada, but...

As I need to send over a pre-paid envelope, how exactly do I do this? I am happy to pay Fedex or Purolator to send it over the London asap, but I can't find any information about a pre-paid sending back envelope. I can see where I can arrange a collection, but nothing that I can include in the original envelope with my passport, photos and other docs that London CIC can use to send back to me in Canada.

Can someone who has actually done this before let me know the specifics of how you did this please?

Thanks for your help.

I opened an account with the courier company to do this sort of thing.
Contact your chosen courier customer service department and tell them what you want.

I've just recently sent my passport to London from Canada, and since my letter said, "Do not put stamps on the return envelope. Do not use a courier envelope as your return envelope. IF your return address is in the uk, you may use a royal mail special delivery envelope..."

So I just sent a regular, not paid for, A4 envelope with my address on it. Hoping it will be fine.

If any one else has done this, I'd love to hear if it went smoothly.

Thanks for your responses, would be great to hear if that worked okay for someone else Poetic. My letter doesn't mention not using a courier envelope or not putting stamps on the envelope, although it may be a bit different as I applied outland and previously had my address in UK.

And thanks Baloo for your advice, I spoke with a few courier companies yesterday and they said that if it is sent back via my account, someone over there will have to fill in the weighbill etc which I can't send over as it will need to be a UK one.

Think I might try and get it sent to a friend in UK first and get them to send it back to her and then she forward it onto me. Might be safer, easier route all round.

We sent hubby's pasport from canada. They asked only for a self-addressed envelope. Not pre-paid. They will stamp it and register it as well on the way back to canada. ITt took about 3 weeks

Hi Holidaylove,

I am planning to send my passport to London from Canada and I ask the London office to send it back to Canada to me.
Did you use a courier to send your passport to London ?
Could you track the passport on the way back to Canada? Did the London office give you a tracking number?
Was a signature required when you received the passport in Canada?

I did exactly the same thing about sending passport to uk from Canada. I sent it over fedex and am getting it returned to a friend in uk to fedex it back to me as I really want it tracked the whole way. Am hoping that wont be a problem for them sending it back eventually.

Hi i'm posting for the first time after following some of the threads since getting my RPRF request. I landed on Dec 31st 2011, and had been staying in Canada as a visitor up to that point. Sponsored by my partner. MandiF, I don't know if this helps but when I sent my passport from Canada it took 22 working days to be returned to me! Thought I was going explode in the meantime, longest 22 days ever! Good call getting a friend to return it to you from the UK so you can track all the way. When waiting for mine(returned direct by CHC using normal registered ) I couldn't stop thinking about all the what if's

Hoping you receive yours before end of Feb so you can complete all this and enjoy
