Sending passport to London

Hi,

I have decided to send our passports with a friend to London. It will then be couriered to the VFS office in London. I am planning on including a prepaid DHL envelope with another local friends' address. I assume that I will not need an authorization letter for the delivery to VFS since it will be couriered to them.

Do I need to include an authorization letter for authorizing the delivery of pur passports to my friends' address? Will they refuse to courier the passports to my friend in London after stamping the visa unless I include it? Or should I just go ahead and include authorization letters for the guy carrying the passport to London and the guy whose house it will be delivered to after processing?

Any thoughts??

If you are outside UK: Carrying of passport outside the country by an individual to whom it does not belong is an offense. If caught the person who is carrying the passport will be prosecuted and passport confiscated. Be aware of that.
