Hi,
Upon landing my wife and I will need to purchase a new vehicle. She has fairly good credit, but I'll be a new PR and will have a fresh SIN with no credit built up in Canada. I'm going to have to purchase a new vehicle and I was looking at this program that Scotiabank offers. It looks like if you start an account with them they give you a small line of credit to start building up and some assistance in financing cars and homes. We have decent income and little to no debt but the problem that remains is my credit being so new I won't have any established yet. I was wondering if anyone's had experience with this Scotiabank program. It shows here that if you put 25% down you can finance through select dealerships, I'm hoping with my wife as a cosigner and our income we would be able to purchase something. Our combined income is just about $100k/year. We were looking at used cars for around 15,000 with about $3000-$5000 down.
