Scarborough Citizenship Test/Interview timeline

Hi all,
I'm sorry if this was asked elsewhere but I am on a quick work break and don't have time to search! My question is how long should I expect to be at Scarborough office for the test and interview? I work night shift and requested a change for my test. They granted me an 815 appointment on August 1st. I am really tired after work and I'm afraid that if it drags out too long that I will not be fully functioning for the exam. Can anyone tell me the process? Do they interview first and then do the test or vice versa? I will probably get there very early as I am off work at 7AM and work only 15 minutes from the office. Any tips/advise is greatly appreciated!

Also, my son is also applying for citizenship but he does not have to take the exam as he is only 16. He does NOT have to go with me to the interview, is this correct?

first they check everyone’s invitation when that’s done they explain the procedure for test then you do the test which they give you 30 mins to finish after that they check IDS and you do interview good luck.

Thanks! Do you know if my son needs to come with me? He is only 16 so does not have to take the test. The invitation is addressed to me but they processed the application as one.

No, your son is not required to be there for test/interview. However, he has to be there for the oath ceremony.

Out of curiosity, We live in Whitby, so our processing office will be Scarborough, when can we expect test invite after in process status ? And within how many months we get our citizenship status after in process if everything goes well ? Kindly advice. After getting citizenship, within how many months we can get Canadian passport ?

I also live in Whitby, I went in process on June 15 and received my invitation to take my test on July 9th. I write my test August 1. It was a really quick turnaround so far for me. I hope that gives you an idea of a recent timeline.

Yes, it has been fast. I will try to remember to come back and post once I get my oath date (assuming I pass tomorrow!) Good luck with your process.

FYI, I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. I got there early and it helped that I finished my test first and my officer called me for the interview first. Very fast and painless for me. Good luck with your process!!
