Worked in Canada until April 2016.
Job offer in New Zealand, so worked there from April on wards and been here since. NZ employer.
CRA deemed non-resident status as of August 2016 via NR73 (Due to wife still being in Canada sorting things out)
Filed my Canadian income like I would usually do, but added the following for the income earned in NZ:
line 104 - other employment income (foreign income)
What I am confused is: do I enter the same amount in line 256 additional deductions/other income exempt under a tax treaty OR do I fill a new form T2209 Federal foreign tax credits for non-business income?
NZ has a tax treaty with Canada, and my tax is withheld/deducted with my pay here in NZ.
Anyone in the same situation before, please help
Cheers!
