Rescheduling of oath ceremony

My citizenship oath is scheduled for October second week.

I have a scheduled travel plan during Feb to India.
Indian visitor visa process for Canadians is suspended till further notice.

One option is to go ahead with oath and apply OCI, it would take roughly 4 month ( 2 weeks Canadian passport , upto 6 weeks for passport surrender, upto 8 weeks for OCI processing ) and can be more if load increase on OCI or more sanctions put in place. This would put my travel plan in risk.

Other option is to reschedule my oath till March / April - giving my scheduled travel and current visa situation as a reason, I am not sure how much CIC will entertain this.

Looking for suggestions.

Oath reschedule is also tricky as people are there in forum waiting for 6+ months to get new one. You have ample time to get OCI.

@nsg Hello , I'm also in similar situation. My LPP completed 27 sept and I have Indian travel booked for Mid Nov , I might get Oath soon. I don't think I have enough time for OCI , how did rescheduling plan work for you?

i am fine with 6+ month of waiting for oath.

For OCI - slot appointment are full, walking queue taking 1+ day ( people waiting overnight ) and postal OCI application will add another 2-4 weeks to processing time.

In that case you can raise a webform request and ask for your oath to be delayed and explain the OCI situation.
