Hello all,

I haven't started the PR application yet but I would like to know, what documents are required? I know you have to do a health and language test and work history, what else needs to be sent?

Another issue I have, is one of the companies I worked at for 3 years has gone into liquidation, so obtaining a letter will be almost impossible. How would I go about this?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Step 1 would be check your CRS score: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp
Step 2 would be to get your education evaluated with a preferred agency, e.g. WES. https://www.wes.org/ca/
Step 3 would be to book an IELTS exam date, they go pretty fast. https://ieltsregistration.org/ielts-candidate/candidateonline/home.html

Work experience, Medical Tests, Police Verification is required once you receive your ITA (Invitation to Apply), but I would suggest you get collecting them in parallel.

Do you have an offer letter at the time when they offered employment? If yes, then you can use your offer letter because usually an offer letter consists of important details like your Designation, Start Date, Salary offered.

Can you get in touch with any supervisor or manager or any colleague who can verify your presence in the company? If yes, get the letter verified with any local authority.

Do you have a valid salary slips or bank statements or cheques on how you received your salary? This will play a major role in proving your employment with the company and finally do you have your tax documents for the period you were employed with that company? That is another evidence.

Finally, once you get these in order, you can write a letter to the Canada Immigration officer explaining your situation. There are many instances where a company closes operations due to unforeseen reasons but that does not mean your experience is not valid.

Good luck and God bless.
