Greetings and I hope all are well who read this.

My wife and I are expecting in April, God willing. We already by the grace of God have one child aged 3.

We would like for her parents to visit us here in Ontario, and stay at our home. In addition to seeing there grand-daughter born, it would be a great help for my wife emotionally and physically to have her mother around for emotional support and other support such as postpartum massage, helping with cooking special foods, and child care etc. Along with the fact my wife would be very pleased and proud to have her parents stay in her house for once.

I work a full time job and my wife is stay at home.

My father in law owns two flats in Mumbai which are on rent and has a small business, mother in law is stay at home. Liquid cash is not much.

Both are citizens of India. Both Have valid visa for Saudi as backup to visit sister in-law who is also giving birth soon, but has more family support there hence why they have us as first option.

They do not have any children left with them full time currently as they are all recently married, but occasionally the children return home for some months at a time to stay.

Father has previous visa(s) to Saudi and Oman, Mother has no travel experience outside of India.

We have a letter from the doctor in charge of my wife stating it would be beneficial to have her family visit for support at time of birth.

Ideally we would like them to stay with us for 3 months if possible, and if the father in law doesn't get so bored that he goes home early ( distinct possibility )

What is the best way to go about this to provide for greatest chance of success in this proposed timeline?

Thank you for all that have and give the time to contribute. Anything helps.

Regards.

This checks all the boxes for working illegally as visitors. You would really not want to go down this path as it could result in TRV refusals.

I work a full time job and my wife is stay at home.
Both points will help.

Do they invest the rent and business income? How is the rent paid - cash or checks? Rent agreements?

Is the business registered? Can he prove it is actively trading? Any employees?

I would not mention this in their applications.

Also, visas/visits to Saudi or Oman do not help as travel history for TRVs.

A huge no to this letter.

3 months is too long for the father-in-law. It would indicate his employment and other ties are weak.

Would suggest a visit of 3-4 weeks along with well-defined day-by-day plans of what they intend to do when they visit along with expense estimates. They must prove they can afford this visit plan + airfare without depending on you/your wife

Its funny you say that because the gyno here apparently does it all the time and even had a template ready to print off for just such a request. also advisors recommended this paper.

ok good thank you

1The rent and income is just used for regular expense etc, also goes to family.
2Cash
3yes they have rent agreements written
4yes it is registered and tax paid
5yes i believe so
6no employees

as i said above its very strange you say this as we have been advised by visa specialist and even the gyno as to the success of such a letter.

that makes sense, but the trip isnt about sightseeing much, although we do plan on going to niagara and several other places. we will now make a plan on paper for this as best we can.

the trip for them is mainly to visit with us and see their daughter, grandson, and new granddaughter. and me :p

Thank you for all your advise.

Is there any specific ways to provide the above info you recommend that would be valid for this trv application?

What is the best way for them to apply, from india or should i apply for them here?

Any advice to make this process more transparent would be gratefully appreciated.
