Ray of Hope 111th draw

I was able to figure an explanation for yesterday's odd draw (1 week gap draw but only 3350 ITAs).

Just my guess, CIC might be planning to do 3 draws on all the months with 5 Wednesdays and 2 draws on all the months with 4 Wednesdays.

Jan, May, Jul and Oct have 5 Wednesdays. All the remaining months have 4 Wednesdays.

11,150 ITAs already issued in Jan.
3350*3=10,050 ITAs each in May, Jul and Oct
3350*2=6,700 ITAs each in the remaining 8 months

Total in 2019: 11150+(10050*3)+(6700*8)=11150+30150+53600=94900 ITAs

With this approach they can meet the ITA target for 2019.

I hope this is not their plan as it would mean higher cut offs in the coming months due to reduced draw size (3350 instead of 3900).

Let's wait and see what happens!
If that is the case, counting backwards, considering May will have draws on 1st, 15th & 29th May, then April would get 3rd & 17th April, March would have draws on 6th & 17th March, then in Feb they will have to do a draw on 6th Feb & 20th Feb to further avoid consecutive draws.
I don't know if it is making sense to any of you, but just being positive for a draw to happen next week. :D

It could also be Feb 13 and 27, Mar 13 and 27, Apr 10 and 24, May 8, 22 and 29.

The draw on the above dates would mean that the May 29th draw is a 1 week gap draw but all the previous draws are 2 week gap draws.

It is better to get the new passport before submitting PR application.

Even those who submitted applications for OINP will receive ITA if their score is above cut off..so they may choose to go through the direct route instead of PNP.
I thought you will be taken out of the EE pool if you accept the OINP invitation and start the process... i was mistaken.

So you can start a PNP process and if your CRS managed to be above the cut off, you can cancel the PNP process and go with ITA?

Yes. But if you have already paid you may not get the money back.

USCIS is moving forward with its plan to reverse the order of the regular and advanced-degree lotteries for this year's filing season, beginning April 1. The change is expected to result in more than 5,300 additional H-1Bs allocated to individuals with U.S. advanced degrees and decrease the number of visas to other petitioners with U.S. bachelor's degrees or foreign advanced degrees. Previously, the government conducted a lottery to award visas to 20,000 advanced-degree holders first. Those who weren't chosen then got a second chance with the other H-1B petitions in a larger 65,000-visa lottery. This year, instead of conducting the advanced-degree lottery first, USCIS will run the regular H-1B cap lottery to meet the 65,000-visa quota with all advanced-degree earners included. It will then put the remaining applicants with U.S. master's degrees or higher into the separate lottery for 20,000 visas.

Any possible impact on profile addition in pool @abhishek_89

From 437 last year dropped to 426 this year because of my b day . On Jan 24th, I got a NOI from Ontario, I sent an email stating that I am interested, but I haven't started the application process. Today, I got and NOI from Alberta and I have acknowledge. I have 3 yrs work experience in AB and a diploma . I think once AINP confirms the letter, I would qualify under Alberta Express Entry Stream. Anyone can share their experience with either of the two PNP?

I've declined twice already at 443.
It's quite sad to see that so many folks with crs of 443+ create their profile without sufficient documents and then they keep rejecting ITAs...when so many hopefuls with crs below 440 keep on waiting for ITAs with ready documents.

Please refer the suggestion/comment below which came from a great expert on Canada Immigration- Kuber Kamal

"All candidates in EE pool with scores over 443, if you feel you will have trouble arranging your complete documents within 60days, then please withdraw your profile and create it when you feel you will be ready.

As of now, you will get an ITA in the next draws, but then it would be of no use to you and you will decline.
You will then continue to be in the pool and get an ITA again, which will again be declined, until you are ready with documents.

In the process you have now taken away a chance from more eligible and ready candidate.

Imagine my fury today, to meet a person who is at sore 451 and has declined ITAs, 8 times since last year, only because of some struggles in certain documentation.

Understand the system, be considerate and be thoughtful.

There is an average 34-36% ratio of ITAs that are declined/rejected and refused from all ITAs that are issued.

If you are to take these 34% lost ITAs into account, can you imagine how many other people may have been able to make use of that opportunity."

I had a discussion with a person who got NOI with CRS 439. After receiving NOI, he called and checked if he could add spouse to his application and they said yes.
Thanks for your response. I will try to follow up on the other threat if she got more information.
