Query related to Proof of Funds.

Hello,
I have received my ITA, now I've got to submit all the details. I am not sure about Proof of Funds, as to what is considered as liquid asset. Me and my wife collectively have a certain sum of money in our account. Can I make a gift deed for the rest of the amount? If yes, then is there any limit of the gift deed?
Please help me out with this.

Proof of funds can include liquid money you and your accompanying spouse hold in your savings account (joint or separate accounts). Apart from this if you have any fixed deposits or other funds which can be made available instantaneously can be included too. I doubt there is any limit to gift deeds as a friend of mine made a gift deed of around USD 25k
