PEQ Timeline:
Applied for CSQ: August 3, 2012
Received CSQ: September 15, 2012 (Edited to show correct year)
Applied for QSW: February 24, 2013
Received Acknowledgement: Apr 9, 2013

Quick Question. I just received this email from a Service Delivery Clerk at Citizenship & Immigration.

"Dear XXX:
This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada under the Quebec Skilled Worker Category.
Upon review of the information you have provided, your application is considered complete based upon the requirements of the Instructions and Regulation 10 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA). Your application will be forwarded to a visa office for further processing."
Does anyone have idea how long it normally takes from receipt of this email to further contact from the visa office?

I am assuming that the visa office is the one that will send me the request for a medical exam?

Thanks.
Just a quick note to say that the request for a Medical Report was sent by email on April 16th. It came from Centralized Intake Office (CIO) - Sydney.

Does anyone know if any of the Quebec panel physicians are eMedical enabled or will I have to take the four photographs (and what size?!? It doesn't specify. Regular passport picture size or the PR picture size?!?)

Never mind! Just called and made an appointment and the physician's office asked for PASSPORT sized pictures.[color]

Dear Friends,
I am very new to this forum.I have few questions regarding quebec skilled worker program.
I applied under above category on 5 March 2012 and got the acknowledge receipt stating that they have received my application and it is under reveiw.
But since then I havent heard anything so far and its more than a year now.
I am basically from India but currently I reside in Australia .At the time of lodging my application also I was in Aus and i send all the documents to Hongkong.
But few days ago,I sent an email to ask the status of my application and I got a reply that I should contact for all enqueries at the mailing address in Montreal.
I am very confused beacuse I changed my home address and educational qualification and sent it to Hongkong a couple of months ago.Can aanyone tell me what is the exact processing time for quebec files.
Thank you in advance

Hi,

Yes they have moved all BIQ Hongkong files to Montreal. Just call up BIQ Montreal and ask if they have received your change of address and other documents.

Regarding processing time for Quebec most of us are in a similar situation as you are. As you have made your application in Mar 2012 you may have an interview either at the end of the year or early next year. The interview from Apr 2013-May 2013 in India are mainly for 2011 applicants, so you and other 2012 applicants can expect interview in the next batch. Rumors are that the selection mission in India is in Nov 2013 but again this is what I have heard.

May I ask:
1. If you are in Australia as a student or are you working?
2. What makes you look to move to Canada?
3. I also have my PR application for Australia in progress but I am not sure about the quality of life, attitude towards foreigners and job market?

The security checks are taking too long and my Aus PR has taken quite sometime. I only intend to move to Quebec but I am aware the application process would take somewhere between 2-3 years, so filling this gap by moving to Australia. Looking to hear from you soon!!!

Regards

Absolutely Aerospace, nursing and few other professions are in high demand so they are subjected to priority processing.

You may have to wait for a month or two to hear something from them and I am sure you'll get through.
Hi,
What about Oil & Gas..?

Type in DOMAINES DE FORMATION PERMETTANT D'OBTENIR 12 OU 16 POINTS À LA GRILLE DE SÉLECTION on your google browser and see for yourself. Foreign degree gaining 12 or 16 points are subjected to priority processing.

This does not mean other professions like structural engineering, oil & gas, energy professionals are not in demand in Quebec or elsewhere in Canada. Just that it takes a regular route for being invited to an interview and the waiting times are lengthy.

Update: I just completed my Medical Exam at CIMPQ on 1665 St. Catherine West. If you will be doing yours there, one thing to note. They are eMedical enabled! This means that you do NOT need to take 4 passport photographs with you. I took 4 and they only used 1.

The medical exam consists of the following and costs $200 (pay by cash or debit card);
1) Urine Test
2) Blood Test
3) Q&A with a doctor (e.g. any communicable diseases, any major surgery, any drugs etc)
4) Chest Xray

And finally, I was informed it takes on average a week for them to send the results on to CIC.

Hi Sam,

He can apply without French (just have his IELTS) as long as he has enough points, but it is HIGHLY recommended that he sits French and present his certificate as soon as he gets his file number.

Hello,

I am still considering applying for the Quebec Skilled Worker Program and need your help to understand the entire process.
I would be very thankful, if you helped me with the following questions:

1. According to the info found on CIC the Visa processing time in London = 24 months, Austria = 12 months, Paris = 5 months. Can I send my documents to Vienna or to Paris to get a quicker response (I am German, and am living in Ireland at the moment)?

2. What will happen, if I move from Ireland to Switzerland after I have submitted the application? Is there a way to change the current address, so that the Canadian authorities can reach me after the relocation? Is there an online service that would help you to monitor the application status?

3. Degree - I have completed a Bachelor's degree in Business and Management in Germany (3 years full time) and a Master's degree in England (1 year full time). What equivalent degree on the list is it and how many points will I get for it?

- BA in Business Management (12 Points - ?) - mine is BA in Business AND Management, or
- Business Management and Administration (6 points - ?)

4. I have been working as Account Manager (Sales Specialist) at IBM in Ireland for over 2.7 years and would like to know whether it will be still considered as 'degree related' experience, since I finished my B.A. studies more than 5 years ago (on the 28th Feb. 2008).

5. Will my Master's degree (MSc in Business and Enterprise) be considered as well, since in Quebec it should take 2 years to get one and I got the British one within one year and two weeks time? Will I get any points for that?

6. Can I attach a CV to my application to clarify experience, etc. Will it not disqualify me, if I do so?

7. Besides that I have some questions regarding the paper 'DOCUMENT CHECKLIST PERMANENT RESIDENCE - PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM AND QUEBEC SKILLED WORKERS'

a). According to that check list provided on the CIC site (file name: IMM5690E.pdf), a CSQ certificate has to be attached to the application. I thought I will get it as a result of submitting my application? If this is not the case, how do I get a CSQ and how long will it take to get it?

b). Do the police certificates have to be sent immediately or later?

c). It says that I have to attach 'notarized (certified)' translation - does it have to be a lawyer, or can I use a language centre?

If you could help to answer at least some of my questions, I would highly appreciate it.

Thank you for your support in advance.
