Dear Antony,
Dear Mef,
my problem is solved, in reply to my email they asked my personal info and file no. and then they sent me back my client id number and then i logged into the E-cas (client application system) and it was showing my status as "Application Received"

Now its been 6 months that my application status has not been changed!

Best Regards,
Hello KIA,
Ur status will never change will remain like this IN Process till they will send u the medicals. After medical results u send them, ur status will be changed in DECISION MADE and that's it, u'll never know if the decision is favorable or not until they ask u to send ur pasport for the visa!!!! It depends on ur entire file...i mean if ur file is good and u have enough points, than u'll not need to much for french, i think is better not to declare u are level 1, u can declare a better level and in 1 year for sure u can reach at least B1 level and obtain 6 points for ur french
Give me more details about ur file: university, work experience, spose, kids....english level, age
Regards
Here are my details:

Dear Daniel,
The points u get for ur french as as follows:
A1 level : 1 + 1 ( 1 for oral comprehension and 1 for oral expression )
A2 level : 3 + 3
B1 level : 4 + 4
B2 level : 6 + 6
C1 level : 8 + 8
C2 level : 8 + 8

Also it could be any combination of this : for example u can understand more than u speak..than u chose A2 for speaking where u will get 3 points, and B1 for understanding where u will get 4 points...for this reason i recommend u all to take the exam TCF for Quebec where u have this posibility to obtain different levels in speaking and understanding
The above points are for the principal applicant only
Regarding the spouse the points will be accorded as below :
A1 - A 2 level : the same for both levels 1 +1
B1 - b2 level : same for both 2 + 2
C1 - C2 level : 3 + 3

Here also can be used any combianation
Good luck

Hello there,
U have a good file except ur french....for u the english counts, let's say u get the maximum of 6, but for ur wife did not count.
Look, ur points with minimum french are at the limit as below:
Formation : 12
Experience: 8
Age : 16
French : 2 ( if we take the minimum, the lowest level A1)
English : 6
Wife education: 3
Age: 3
French : 2 ( if we choose A1 or A2 , so i recommend u choose A1, as u get same points for A2 level)
Till now u have 52 points from the minimum request which is 50.
we add 4 pct for ur kid, and 1 for Capacite financiere, u have now 56 points and they require minimum 56.So u will be called for an interview where u must get 6 more for adaptability in order to receive the visa.
In this case i recommend u to declare a higher level for french, u can declare B1 level ( 4 + 4 ) and to get 8 points for french, so ur file in this case will be vvvvv good and maybe u pass without interview.U will not be called for an interview before 1 year, during this year i a sure u can reach easily this level.
There is one more thing...u did not specify ur Domain de formation, i mean u have an MBA in what??? maybe u can get some points here too ad will be no need for french if u have a domain de formation they accord points to it.
Otherwise u have a very good file and for sure in 2 years u will be in quebec..:))) Good luck

Dear 2010 DAMASCUS Applicants

I am also a one like you waiting for CSQ. Any update? when will they call us for interview? What is the best way to improve the french langauge skills? is it good to read french newspapaer as cyperpresse.ca or the only the course books. I am studing at home these days and I have recently learnt how to make sentences in past contineous tense and future simple stences.

Can any one guide me what is the best way to learn quickly?

regards

Mazhar

Thank you Ricoluna.
My agent did the computation as well and she is saying that I get the total points of 51(not considering the prospective MBA degree that I may get), she has advised me to enroll for the high beginner French class (prob A2 in the list above) and get 6 more points. One thing that she told me that I need to check with you is that A1 and A2 levels don't need any French exam to be taken. Is this true?

The exam is not necessary as they will see ur french level during the interview if u declare A2 or A1, for this they are calling us for an interview ...to check all original documents, as well as ur french level...for higher french if u already made the exam and send them the diploma, than if ur points are good u may be exempt from interview, they can send u directly ur CSQ by mail.
Good luck and lose no time, send ur file....anyway u should wait 1 year to be called for an interview, in this time u can learn good french.

Nothing at all Mazhar, we are still waiting... :(
For me the best way to improve French was to listen: songs, news, tv movies and trying to repeat with them. Also asking my friends to talk me in French...grammar rules are not important...ok u learn them but u should listen more than to work grammar. Try to print words from songs, and after u listen and repeat them, as well as paragraphs, short stories...is v important.U need to have conversation...for this is important to understand first very well. Keep going , hope we will have good news soon

after you get some basics start watching french movies and read french books for beginners, but you still have to talk with someone in french otherwise it is useless because you need to have the proper pronounciation and be able to reply quickly not thinking about each word at a time to make a sentence.
