I doubt they are that rigid abourt the 30 days, but it's obviously at your own risk. You've done what you can, write a webform as well if you haven't, and when you return, submit your passport and hope.
Yup did the webform as well. Will save all the evidence of the correspondance and send in my passport when I return with explanation and evidence. Than just pray and hope. Will post on here how things work out in case helpful to others.

I think obviously depends how much past the 30 days you are, and possibly whether you were in or out of compliance with the residency obligation. If a routine case, not too much over the 30 days (don't make me guess what too much is), and you were in compliance, my guess would be won't be a problem.
