I remember seeing somewhere that you need someone to state how long they've known you and write a passage about your relationship being true...I can't find it anywhere now. I think it was like an accountant or other professional, I believe who is not related.

If you are filing common-law or conjugal partner, you need two statutory letters stating the writers believe your relationship to be genuine. Nowhere does it say they have to be professionals. I think if you can, one or two letters from someone who knows the couple in a professional way would be fine to include, but not necessary. For example, your priest could say he knows both of you and believes the relationship is genuine. This may carry more weight than a letter from a friend.

Getting declarations from persons in a position of trust in the community (i.e., priest, police officers, judge. doctor etc.) and those you have a professional relationship with (employer, accountant etc.) generally carry more weight then those from personal relationships. I have never seen anything that say it is mandatory. Our declarations were purely from family members and friends and we did okay.

So it's not mandatory? We have 3 kids together and I'm going to send a copy of all of their birth certificates which has both of our names on it as mother and father...photos of our family, joint accounts, etc. should that be enough?

That should be fine. As an established couple with children, you don't need to provide a whole lot of evidence to the genuineness of your relationship. Samples would be fine.

That is not enough. I applied inland since 2010 March. they're still asking us a lots of documents. The next step for me is to go to my MPP . I am fed up. Enough is enough with CIC. I have an appointment with the MPP next week. I am a Canadian Citizen with good work history both in Canada and US. My wife and kids are been living with me in the US since 2009. I sponsored them to the US from Africa to the US with my US work Visa and got a 3 year Visitor Visa for them to enter Canada and filled for Inland Canada PR for them . We have been waiting for long.

What you wrote here leads me to infer that you are not a Canadian with an American citizen partner. CIC has different yardsticks on what is "enough" evidence from couples, and the yardstick for a Canadian with an American partner is quite different for a Canadian with a partner from, say, somewhere in Africa.

The answer I gave was specific to the OP and what she has described of her circumstances in other threads. If the answer does not apply to you, that does not make it invalid. Whatever your issues are with CIC, you have to address them based on your own circumstances, not in comparison with someone else.
