Hello,

As per the latest update, the processing time for the citizenship grant has been updated to 27 months. What does it mean?

We’ve updated the processing times for many applications to be more accurate.

I just checked it and it says 27 months.

Did they change from 12 months to 27 months? What's going on there?

Now, IRCC have good excuse to delay our applications. Really sad every crisis in this world have impact on us. It was Afghanistan and Ukraine.
I saw homeless people in winter on Ottawa's streets! Unbelievable!

I hope things will be normal again. What can we do other than wait?

Some appropriate action must be taken to improve processing times.

I don't think this is possible in the near future. What IRCC tried to do is to skip applications like 2019 and processed 2021 application so they can maintain the 12 month processing time standards at the expense of and without any regard to earlier applicants. I am sure what happened was that they couldn't deny they were skipping years and eventually but rightfully admitted they cannot do that and sustain it for the long run, probably by a decision from the top, the minister of immigration, who seems, despite his young age, aware of the flaws of the system and tries to address them. I just hope they return to consider applications first-in first-out again. When I was seeing 2021 applicants progressing before me, a 2019 applicant, I was furious. After this last update, the question is: can Canada now attract 400K immigrants a year with these new processing times? I seriously doubt it, but only time can tell

My application hit 28 months i think. About time . They are busy with 2021 applicants. My friend applied feb 2021 and has ceremony last week. It is so frustrating. We are 2019 and waiting for oath since 6 months after test. It is frustrating. They also removed the date range of processing applications
