Processing time for spousal visa - Sri Lanka

Hi All,
I have been working closely with our MP as well. So far the MPs office has been very helpful. Last they heard about our app was in November. We were told that we will be contacted with further instructions and nothing so far. So I went to the MP again and they wanna take a look and see what's going on.

I GOT MY CAIPS NOTES AND THE VISA OFFICER HAD REFUSED THE VISA UNDER SECTION 4 AND SECTION 39........I HAVE APPLED ALREADY AND GOT A CONFRIMATION LETTER FROM THE APPEAL BOARD THAT THEY HAVE RECIEVED MY APPEAL. HOPE I CAN GET THROUGH AN ADR PRAY 4 ME PEOPLE. IM ALSO PRAYING FOR U ALL...GOOD LUCK AND KEEP ME UPDATES

Rathika, Mel, Sharmi and others. How are you guys?? I hope you're all fine. It's terrible what's happening out there. Rathika, u knw that friend of mine, his wife didn't get the visa yet. Its over a year and a half now. They haven't updated him with any info. I hope you all get positive results. Good luck all.

Sponsored husband in March 2011.
Medical completed on Jan 13, 2011
Additional Documents requested on May 28th, 2011 - copy of original marriage certificate & copy of original birth certificate
Additional Documents requested again on November 4, 2011 - updated police clearance, communication proof, UK visa copy, and written explanation on UK status
Submitted on November 28th, 2011
PPR requested: January 11, 2012
Visa Issued: January 11, 2012
Landed: January 12, 2012 - before expiry of medical.
Just to let you all know, this is what Ecas has been updated with today, 4 days after my husband landed.
Permanent Residence
We received your application for permanent residence on April 28, 2011.
We started processing your application on January 10, 2012.
Medical results have been received.
A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.
Ecas is not reliable at all.

Hi all
I am back in Canada now after a month in SL. Unfortunately my husband was refused a visitor visa. I changed my mind about staying in SL until my husband gets his visa, after speaking to an immigration lawyer. he said that I had to be in the country of Canada while the sponsorship is in process and that I should not take long vacations.
Its been two months since i sent in my application to missisagua and now the processing time in Mississagua has increased to 74 days
Selvi, I have a few questions for you...Would you tell me something about what you meant by "UK visa and written explanation"? I ask because my husband lived in the UK the past two years and we got married in the UK.
Also, u mentioned that they asked for proof of relationship, hadn't you submitted those when you first applied? or did they want more than what you had submitted?

vaali - we did provide proof of communication when we sent in our application but we only had a few months of proof before we sent it in. by written explanation they wanted us to explain what status he held in UK, the visa, and when he had arrived and departed from there.
do approach your MP for a status update and visit the embassy before your medical expires. we visited the embassy few times before our medical expiry to find the status of our application.
another piece of advice, the embassy will most likely request an updated police clearance if it has been one year since you have sent in your application. we were requested to submit a police clearance for the year our application was in process. it is best to be aware of this so you are able to provide the clearance as soon as possible if they request it.

My husband got an call from the emabssy for the interview on Feb 14,2012. His visa was refused and I won the adr and re opened the file in Sri Lanka. His medical was expired 2 years ago. They didnot ask him to re do the medical, but they call him for an interview. Do you guys think that they will reject again? or will they ask him to do the medical later?
Please let me know

hi harisha as i remember...they refused u because of a police clearance right? so if they want to interview ur husband that means that they want to see if ur relationship is real...so my advice to u is get well prepared he should know everything about u..where u live, when u came to canada , how u came to canada, about ur family brother, sister etc...trust me my hubby did well in the interview he have answered all the question the visa officer asked the only thing my hubby didn't really explain my health situation well..and in the end of the interview she said that she is refusing him..so we got refused on nov 15,2011 up to now she didn't send the refusal letter... but i appealed with out the refusal letter..hey pls get well prepared to answer all the question what vo asks...i'll pray 4 u ..best of luck keep me updated
