Problem with form just before submitting

Hi everyone,

Is this a now a new problem and or setback or can I still continue ?
CIC changed form IMM1344 with a date of July 2014 I have the previous form and that is the form that both my wife and I filled out and signed together when I was there in Thailand. As stated CIC wants the original form that has been signed by the two of us. Is this previous form going to be a problem?

Same question CIC changed form IMM0008 with a date of July 2014 I have the previous one completed and signed.

I hope this isn't a problem..if they wont accept the previous ones, CIC just threw a huge monkey wrench into everything. To get originals of those two documents resigned will most likely cause her police clearances to be no longer valid for CIC.

We are almost there and ready to send just waiting for her to take the run to bkk and have her medical done.

You will need to have the new form signed and sent in, especailly since you aren't ready to file yet

Even if the effectivity is July, since they have already posted a new form, you should use the new form. You wouldn't want to be submitting a completed application package only to be returned to you.. Sorry bud.

As others have suggested, it's probably best to send the updated form(s), however...

If it's going to be problematic to have your wife sign IMM1344, you should be able to argue that July isn't here yet, so how could the form that you have today be outdated?

and who do you think would win this argument, the OP or CIC?

I completed all forms too, me and my husband signed, upon returning to canada i found one form was updated by CIC, I called CIC and they said I have to use the last form uploaded on their siteas once the application reaches them they do check the bottom of each page to make sure they have the last version.

For forms that are recently updated, as in same month, CIC seems to have some compassion as long as the change(s) to the form aren't directly relevant to the spousal sponsorship class (IMM0008 for example is a generic form used for more than just spousal sponsorship).

I think I will have to call them and find out about a scanned copy of her signature.

I suspect that will meet with a flat refusal. They seem to be very strict on "originals". Good luck however...

Personally I would, given your circumstances, have sent off the old forms and kept my fingers crossed. I suspect that many (most) people do not check the website for last minute form changes before sticking the bundle in the post. I know that we didn't...

If I were you, I would send the package as is now. Like Ponga said, when they update a form they give a couple of weeks before they start returning back old forms. So in my opinion, they will accept your forms.

Let's say someone from France sends the package in the morning. CIC updates form in the afternoon (it is very possible when you keep in mind the time difference between Canada and Europe). CIC receives this application a week later (when it's sent from abroad). Practically the forms are outdated on this application when CIC receive it, but in theory they aren't, because the package was sent before the forms were updated.

Probably that's why they put up the updated form for July now. So the people who will send their applications in July will have enough time to update their form.

Like I said, I would send the application like this. I'm almost certain you will not have any problems with it.

You have nothing to lose. Most of the times, they request the updated forms without returning the package. But even if they return your whole application, the PC will be expired anyway. Just like if you wait now to get the new form signed. So in both cases PC will expire. But if you send the package now, you have a good chance that they will either accept the forms or ask for new form without returning the entire application. And in both cases, PC will still be valid.
