Received Passport Request from Delhi India on April 6

Passport Received by CPC Ottawa on April 13

Still waiting.... no update

it takes around 10 days. my parents sent their passports in india for stamping and they received their passports back in mid of second week

It's already been 2 weeks since my passport at CPC Ottawa.

it can take up to 4 weeks to receive your passport back from ottawa, and your timeline includes 2 federal holidays (the fed. gov't was closed on the 14th and 17th). so even though it arrived on April 13, more than likely the earliest it was opened was April 18th.

it will also depend on where it is being sent back to.

I know someone, whose passport was received on April 12 got gckey approval on Monday and already got passport at home on April 14 .....He is also family class.....

My passport is received at CPC Ottawa after one day of him. (Mine received on April 13)

Sill why they are taking longer for my passport ??

I keep checking my gckey but no any update....and no update on Canada post ???

I keep checking my gckey but no any update....and no update on Canada post ???

again, it can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks, and as suggested, there were 2 days the office was closed since they received YOUR passport. don't compare your situation to someone else's. every situation is unique, and not all processing is 100% exactly the same. you will get your passport back, you need to remain patient. IRCC will do nothing to help you until either 4 or 6 weeks have past since you mailed it, so being patient is your only option right now.

Actually, my wife has to go to her graduation in second week of May, therefore, we need her passport before that.

We were thinking to do landing while coming back from state. (This was our initial plan)

I know only patient is the only option, however, if I send fax to CPC Ottawa saying that she has to go to graduation and if they can do little faster to stamp visa and COPR. She doesn't wanna miss her university graduations in states.

Do you think sending a fax can help ? I know they take forever to reply email …..

May be make it faster ???? Or may be involve local MP to get help…..???

no, sending a fax or email will not help. there is nothing an mp will be able to do right now. it's not as though they can call the person who is processing the passport and ask them to hurry up. you are within the expected processing time for receiving the passport back. your wife's travel plans and schedule is of none of their concern. it is your wife's responsibility to plan accordingly.

if someone called you at work, would you want to be told to hurry up when you're doing your job as you know how to do it within a reasonable amount of time? do you think that will actually help?

Can you please explain me that why they take longer for family class ? (because originally, passport request was from Delhi office ? that's why ? )

I know they do process in 1-2 days for PNP and CEC applicant ?
