We are first year Canadian permanent residents. We are currently outside of Canada in home country. My wife is pregnant. If baby will be born outside of Canada, he will not have Canadian permanent residence. Please can you give your advises what will be more correctly to do. Thank you in advance.

If baby is born in Canada, it will become Canadian citizen and no need to go through permanent residence. There is no right or wrong whether you want to give birth in Canada or in your home country.

Depending on where you are planning on settling you may not have medical care for 3 months and you have to remain in that province for at least 6 months to qualify for health care costs or you could be asked to repay any expenses. One parent will have to be in Canada to sponsor the baby for PR. You can apply for TRV or TRP for the baby to return to Canada but there is no guarantee it will be approved. The baby may not have healthcare during that time. Will depend on the province.
