Dears,

When you get your PR Card and its valid for five years June 2021 - June 2026....

Would you face trouble on the residency physical obligation when you travel to USA and back to Canada during these five years or you will be questions about if you met the obligation on the third year for example 2024?

Or they keep everything till 2026 and they start questioning your stay inside when you apply for renewal?

Generally, the first 3 years are the easiest, since even if the PR has not met the R.O., they would still have time to do so by remaining in Canada. I think the closer a PR is to the 1095 day mark (if they have been outside of Canada for any length of time), the chances of being questioned by CBSA could increase.

Make sure you keep (and have kept) accurate records of your travels from/to Canada since becoming a PR. You will need to declare all absences from Canada when you apply to renew your card (or a PRTD if you are outside of Canada without your valid PR Card and need to return).
