PR Obligations - Working abroad question - Please help leon & others.

Hello guys,

I have two short questions that I hope some of you would be able to answer regarding working abroad & fulfill PR obligation.

Q1) If I apply for a job in the Embassy of Canada in Jordan and get the job, would my time there be considered toward my PR 2 year obligation?

Q2) Similar to questions one, but deals with a Canadian NGO operating abroad & with offices in Canada, would working with them covers my PR 2 year obligation?

1. No, you would be considered a Local Engaged Staff, as you were not hired in Canada by the Public Service and then sent abroad.

PMM's responses are correct. Neither of these jobs will count towards your residency requirement for PR.
