Hello,

Initiating this thread to clarify few questions on post PR-process
1) I have landed in Canada as a PR on 06th July. I am planning to fly back to my home country (India) on 15th July. Can my friend collect my PR card on my behalf? I have given my friend's local address for sending my PR card. or do I need to be present in Canada till I get my PR card?

2) Can I travel back to my home country without getting my PR card? Someone advised me I will be asked for my Canadian PR card at the Indian Port of Entry? is it true? Please let me know.

The PR card gets delivered to the address you give. For most, it comes in a post box. So that's hardly an issue.

About your second question - yes, you can go back to your home country after soft landing. You'll however either need a PRTD or a PR card to come back. PR card can take time to be delivered to your friend's address. You can also come via the land border from the US if you've a valid US visa without PR card or a PRTD too.
