Hi all
i got my residency in nov 2012. However i could not wait for 40 days in canada fo my PR card and left the country before the PR card arrived. After that my friend posted that PR card to me through DHL which i received it safely. Now I am wondering would there be any problem for me to re enter canada as the PR card was posted outside? I remember when I left canada for the first time, i did not had to go through immigration to board my flight.
I am a little confused, do I need a special visa to re enter now or is the PR card enough to re enter canada.
your response will be highly appreciated.
cheers
kevin

Now you have mentioned that you didn't pass through immigration when you leave, I didn't either. Is it normal?

When I get back to Canada immigration will ask for the PR card and will stamp the passport?

I understood the PR card will be asked for the airline in order to board.

Thanks,

You don't go through immigration when you leave Canada.

Immigration may or may not ask for the PR card, as they are able to see all of your details just from your passport. My partner was not asked for his PR card last time he came through, the officer just stamped his passport.

If you aren't visa-exempt, the airline will definitely need to see it.

I didn't get the passport stamped the first time (landing)

When you initially landed as a PR? That was a mistake of the border officer but it's not a big deal. The only effect I've seen from not having that initial stamp is that people have issues getting a SIN without it.

Yes when I initially landed.. The officer just made a mark on my visa and write something in the passport. I don't think it's a big deal for the sin because I already had it. I think it was the day after I landed.

It was weird the non stamp but I thought it was the same for everybody.
