Hi - My Filipina wife and son arrived in Canada last year, have their PR cards, OHIP etc. We are planning a weekend trip to the USA, wondering if the PR card is all that will be required or whether they will need some kind of visa as well. Does anyone have experience with this? (I am a Canadian citizen.)

No. US entry is based entirely on citizenship. Their PR status does not allow them to travel without a visa.

If they needed a visa before becoming PRs, they will need a visa now. Filipino citizens require visas to visit the US.

Thanks for the feedback ... anyone know the specific visa type in this case / how long it takes to get? Can it be procured at a border crossing?

1. B1/B2 and no it can't be applied for at the border. They need to make an appointment and apply to the US consulate: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/niv
