I intend to land , stay for 1 week and return back to US. I have 2 friends in Canada and will try to get one of their address to be put for PR card delivery..but in case that is not possible what would be my other option(s)? From what I understand I cannot provide a US address as PR card mailing address (only Canadian address) so what would be my option? Can I provide dress of a hotel (I will make arrangement with the hotel to keep it for me) thanks a lot.

I don't know about hotels but there is a way using UPS which I don't know the details for. Hope someone can detail it.

You can rent a postal box via Canada post I believe or the others. Google it bud!

Does anyone have personal experience receiving their PR card in a postal box ? Does IRCC allow this ?
From this link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2013/ob491.asp renewals will not be mailed to PO boxes. It does not mention PO boxes w.r.t initial PR card so I am hopeful.

I hope you realize you are too restless here, Its a sunday and most are not active in this forum. Give it a day and you will get your guidance.
One other option is to set UPS mailbox which will give you street address and not a PO box address. You will need to call local UPS stores to find out about price and availability.

You can rent a ups box when you land and then update the pr mailing address online,i didnt do that but i know that some did
I believe that you need to be physically there but try contacting ups offices by phone
