Hi,

My PR application under experienced class has been returned since I had presented personal cheque for fee payment.
I have sent the application again with bank order now.
Will the process starts from the beginning again? please advise.

Thanks.

-Sara.

Hi Sara,

Yes your application will be processed from the beginning. My first application got returned to me after 6 weeks, I sent it again a couple days later and got the AOR 6 weeks later like everybody else!

You can pay with any of your credit card which has sufficient limit, Demeand Draft and money Order.

If you prefer to pay with your CC. I would say call your bank and let them know in advance that you have paid to govt of Canada and you are expecting they will charge you so make sure you authorize the payment right away.

The PR application fee can be paid only by the following ways. Got it from CIC website.

In Canadian funds only, you may pay:

by certified cheque, bank draft or money order made payable to the “Receiver General for Canada” or with a credit card (Visa®, MasterCard®, American Express®)

Hope this helps.

You can use your personal cheque but it has to be certified.
Better to get a bank draft. It's usually free with most accounts. If not, there is a $10 fee.
Credit Card is always best in my opinion because of the float.

Bank draft or Certified cheque looks better from my side as it "guarantees" that CIC will receive money. There is a month or even two between you send all paperwork and credit card being charged, so there always slight chance that credit card may be compromised, etc. If CIC would not be able to charge your card, they will refuse your application rather than asking you to pay again and you will simply lose time until you receive your paperwork package back. Online payment is probably even better option but it became unavailable some time ago and I am not aware whether it become available again or not.

If you are using BLS it takes around 4-6 weeks to get PCC.

In simple terms, BLS international are the authorized agents for getting PCC. The High Commission of India does not provide PCC's directly. They have authorized BLS to perform this. So you need to submit a PCC request through BLS. Depending on your residence go to the nearest BLS office and get it done.

Please note that PCC's should be submitted within 3 months of issue and are valid for 1 year from issue.
