Hello there,

I've got a couple of questions regarding the PR application for Protected Person. I know there is time variability.

1. How long does it take usually to get PR after applying? Does it take longer time than usual if I add my overseas staying spouse/family members?

2. Do I need marriage photos for the PR application for overseas staying spouse?

3. Can my wife apply for a visitor visa to reunion if I have Protected Person status?

Thanks.

Once you become a refugee, or entered in Canada as a UNHCR refugee, you immediately become Permanent Resident, and than you are given OYW (One Year Window) opportunity to invite all the members mentioned on your COPR, they will also be granted PR status immediately after landing in Canada.

1. It takes at least 24 months, check the updated IRCC processing times for "exact" timeline. It does not take longer if you have overseas souse/family, but their PR application will not start processing until your PR is finalized.

2. Yes you will need to prove your marriage/relationship- i believe a marriage certificate will suffice

3. Your wife can apply, but it is a very high chance of her visa getting rejected because you are a protected person
