The box of evidence and the application I sent weighed 5 kilos.
The CIC agent said more was better than less, so I sent moreeeeeeeeeeeeee. lol
I wish I had taken pictures also.
I can happily say that it paid off, and my Husband has been here for 2 years now.

My Inland common law application was one of the 10 page ones. No pictures, no letters, just the application forms and joint bank statements, life insurance, medical forms and police clearance form. I then joined this site, after my application was in and spent 8 months of hell, fretting I hadn't sent enough information.
I was approved and got my COPR in less than 8 months....LOL
By the way, I too understand the 'just has to get the PR thingy' too....I was in the same situation. It's an awful time to go through. Good luck everyone.

The amount of evidence required I imagine has a lot to do with the country the sponsored spouse is coming from, and also if it is a relationship that may raise doubts with the agents, it is better to send the evidence that can answer all of their doubts before they come to their own conclusions. I guess I like to play devil's advocate in these matters, and answer a question before it is asked, and provide proof before it is asked for.

I have just sent in my wifes and mine application with all documents and pictures and emails and letters . My package was two boxes via fedex weighing 13 pounds . The main question to the canadian embassy official is , wether your marriage is true , genuine and ongoing and this is what takes time to proove .Lots of marriages are ones of convenience and this is what they have to sift through all your paper works to try and decipher . This is what takes most of their time .

Actually, I'm submitting some follow up documents (Garda clearance, more photos of gifts, tickets, us, etc) that I was waiting for but no more than couple of pounds id say.
