Post-Grad Working Permit Expired

Hi guys,

Hope you can help me with this.

My Background: I was an international student in Vancouver and I graduated from UBC in May 2009. Then I obtained a three-year post grad working permit. However, I returned to Hong Kong in June 2009 to study and work. My working permit expired in Jun 2012 and I did not work in Canada.

My questions: Can I extend my work permit or apply an open work permit? What are my options now if I want to work in Canada?

It has been almost 2 years so you will not be able to renew anything.

PGWP cannot be extended. Even there was a way to extend it, unfortunately it won't apply in your case.

You would have to secure a job first, get work permit from that employer, then apply for Visa. If granted, you will be able to come and start working in Canada.
