Yippie... My husband received his congratulations letter today stating that he is officially a permanent resident. All they need is a picture so he can get his PR card. We mailed the picture already. We have waited long enough. 25 months.... No landing as he was here due to covid . Best wishes to everyone.

I’m so happy this process is over just waiting for them to mail PR card . Now the process of obtaining his health and card SIN number beings .

Good morning i am in ontario and my husband is from trinidad. We received the golden PPR email yesterday from mexico VO, feb 2019 outland app. He will be submitting his passport today. I read due to covid there only open half day. Anyone recently at this stage, during covid know how long it is taking to receive passports back. And anything we should know when submitting the documents during this crazy covid times. Cant believe this is going to come to an end!

I can't speak for Mexico but I know I've sent mine to Trinidad VO two weeks back,and still awaiting to receive it back from them. They're a bit slow.
I'm sooooo hoping to spend Thanksgiving with my hubs and in laws this year.

I hope u will get yours back quickly from Mexico!

We've been in the process for 2 years now. The interview scheduled for March 23rd was cancelled due to COVID (understandable) but I do hope they come up with a way of doing electronic interviews, soon. As hard as it would be to do from Cuba, it's better than waiting for borders to open.

The passport should take 2 weeks because he is from right in Trinidad.
Yes this was a process an half ,so happy its finally over too!!

Thank you for the info, would u happen to know when hes flying home to me in canada. Do they require the original marriage cert or is a copy and a copy of my passport sufficient to get exempted into the country?
