Hi guys, sorry I was MIA for a while. I missed a lot and Kadi 27 did a good job summarizing it all for me. I see some awesome news and some not so great : (

Congratulations to all the awesome news! For the not so happy news, please keep the faith. We are all here for each other. It's sad that it had to be round two but you are going in stronger and more determin than ever. All the best Miss D!
MsRuby, nice to see you!!! ;) Seems like POS has moved a lot and cleared up many of the 2012 folks and early 2013. Hopefully their overall processing time will be greatly reduced for the 2014 and prior applicants. Blessings.

Goodnight forum members! Just dropping in quick to see how everyone is doing. We are preparing for the holidays and it is so great that hubby will be with our daughter for her second Christmas. I actually never thought it would happen and that he would be here for Christmas. Truly counting our blessings. My challenge is to convince him that our daughter does not need hundreds of dollars of toys!!!! It's so nice to make decisions together and plan for our future.

Just wanted to let everyone know hubby received his PR card in the mail about 10 days ago. Seeing the VISA in his PP was an amazing feeling but getting the PR card really solidified everything for us. I feel like I've stopped holding my breath and waiting for everything to fall. He is here for good and will not be going anywhere again!

I haven't seen any recent posts from LouisFam or doclady... Any news from either of you? Perhaps I missed something. Hope everyone is taking care.

Hi Brit, it all sounds positive for sure, congratulations! ;D When you say AOR - do you mean the sponsorship approval for the sponsor or do you mean another letter (after the sponsor approval) to the applicant confirming receipt of the application by CIC? This 2nd letter is the applicant AOR FYI.

From the time my husband got his AOR it only took 10 days to go to "in process" on ecas and then he received his ppr shortly after. I think it is all shown on my profile if you want to check. So I would say you are moving right along :) Blessings.

Basically what I read online abt aor is that its when they give u the file number and they put all those faqs in the letter like how long will it take, when u should notify them of any changes etc. They e-mailed me one letter abt my fees that they got them and then another one the same day with or app number and that it is sent to trinidad.

So my question is, who sends u the aor Canada or Pos? **** His status online says application received.

Both Canada and Pos sends AOR. In total you have two Aor one for u from Canada (sponsorship) and one for your husband (pr)

From your timeline it would seem this is stage 1 AOR with sponsor approval. After stage 1 the file is transferred to POS and at which point (usually within 3 months) you should receive an AOR from POS which indicates the applicants Unique Client ID number. This process is referred to as stage 2 which is evaluation of the applicant. So, you and the applicant will each have your own Unique Client ID and there will be one file number.

To answer your question, Canada will send AOR for stage one approval (sponsor) and POS sends stage 2 AOR for the applicant. When you say his file says application received are you logging on with his name/DOB and ID number or are you logging in with your info?

Hey everyone.... :p Okay now that i got everything cleared up. I just got off the phone with CIC. They sent the first letter (which I never received) stating that they received my application and they are checking it for completeness (October 22nd) THEN they sent out another letter acknowledging me that the file has been transferred, application/client id number, what to do from here, how long it will take and so forth (Oct 25th). The guy said that is my AOR as my status on their end say IN PROCESS from sometime in the end of november. So we are certainly moving along.

Important to know CIC does not update their online system that we have access to very often so technically what we see can be all weeks behind. I remember when I got my letter for the fees bcus I thought it was 470 for PRF so of course i sent them 1020 in total when it should be 1040 (550 Processing fee + 490 PRF) so they sent back my 470 3 weeks ago. When i seen the letter of course i panicked  but they told me everything is okay they will ask for it when were at the final stage. Beer in mind when I called them right away because i was living on the ecas system daily to see whats up, the girl told me before i even got my letter for approval that i was approved as a sponsor :D because theyre system shows everything right away while ours whill take a lil while to update.

Anyways my status that i m seeing online is saying "Application Received" and CIC they are seeing that its "in process" from The ending part of november and everything is moving well.

My information with the client id number or application number under that little barcode because that is what they sent in the letter for us to be able to check the status. At first I tried to log in with his of course but didnt work, so when they sent the letter I as able to finally see the updates.

Also, your Unique Client ID never changes so if the applicant has previously had a file with CIC the number remains the same and can log in with that number. For example, my hubby came on a work permit initially, overstayed, went back home and we applied for PR and we were able to log on with his original number.

We didn't get AOR from POS until 5 months when I emailed to ask them if file was received. AOR is generally less than 3 months, BUT not everyone gets an AOR either.
