Police Certificate Cuba : Do we need it?

Hi there, I have a question for you:

I'm married with a NIcaraguayan since 2 years, we are in the process to get the RP done and they have the papers at the Embassy of Canada in Guatemala since january.

In febuary, they send us a letter saying that they needed some more papers, and that they needed a police certificate from Cuba because my husband went to study there in 2002 for 2 months. BUT, I did a mistake filling the papers and instead of putting 2 months I wrote that he stayed 14 months... So we sent back the papers they needed + a letter saying that I was sorry about the mistake and that we didn't have to give them the police certificate because he stayed only 2 months (less than 6 months).

This week, we got another letter saying that they needed the police certificate from cuba.... Can somebody explain to me why they need this police certificate if he stayed less than 6 months in Cuba?

Presumably because now they are suspicious; sounds like you should just do as they ask and get the certificate.

I think if the ambassy ask for it don't ask yourself and go for it ! If I were you I would ask in from Cuba right now... trust me, Cuba are slow, very slow, for everything.... Buena suerte amiga !

Yeah that's what we are doing, my husband will go tomorrow to have it done. They told us that we had to wait from 3 to 6 months to have this paper....
I have a question, still: The delays to give them back the papers are 90 days. It's IMPOSSIBLE to get the police certificate from cuba within 90 days. But, there's a note saying that if we don't give back the papers within the delays they told us, they would stop the proccess for the PR.

If we write a letter saying that we are in the process to get the paper done and that we will give them this police certificate as soon as we have it in our hands, would they wait ???
