plz advise . CIC website says 0ne immigrant appx 11000 cad $ and two persons 14000 cad $ shud bring upon landing as a proof of funds. I M CONFUSED! IF 1 PERSON IS 11OOO THAN 2 SHUD BE 22000 OR ONE SHUD BE 7000$ ? PLZ ENLIGHTEN ME?

I just want o take 5000 cad $ upon landing rest will following after I open bank account in Canada ; is this ok?

Oh man, this is how it works. No matter u live single or as a family of 2, CIC still assumes u need a 1 bedroom apartment. therefore the assumption is that 1 person will pay atleast 11000, whereas if the person brings a dependent, there will be extra expenses, but most of them are very much shared, like car, groceries, rent etc.

Remember these funds are calculated based on Canada's Cost of living index per capita. So doesn't mean this much will be more, but this is the minimum that they want to see.

Don't think too much, just follow the rules. If you are on your own, bring $11'000 or more, should you be two people, then $14'000 or more. That is it!

in what form we can carry such money ?

You can bring into Canada as much as you like. But $10'000 and more you have to declare..
