Contacted CIC they said my eligibility is passed and they're processing the final stage which is criminal check and medical even though our medical was already passed . Not sure how long from now but We are 22 months in... CIC requested additional documents in July

just called IRCC and the lovely agent (she was lovely really) told me the following:

1) Eligibility Check - Passed
2) Medical - Passed
3) 1st Background Check - Passed
4) 2nd Background Check - Not Passed

My file is with Winnipeg IRCC. The agent told me that she will send out an email to the IRCC Winnipeg office about my file and hopefully, they take any actions.

Hello!

I am not sure when it was done. I have read a forum about the background checks and the 1st stage is usually done short time after the application is submitted. The second one is the one that is associated with the criminal check, which was told (by other forum people) that could last anywhere from 1 week to 6month and over.

I just realized that I have written the wrong answer on my post. The second one is still pending for me.

In my previous phone calls I asked the same question, they refused to answer who or what institutes are doing the check.
They also refuse to answer how long it takes.
I mean, they must have some statistics on the cases with extra background/criminal check, the minimum, maximum, average processing time, but still, they refused to give me any information about that.
